Tunnel back to usual

Its being reported that the new Mayor of London, Boris Johnson has enacted one of his election promises and has overturned Ken Livingstone's policy over the Blackwall Tunnel's tidal flow operation. This means that the tidal flow operation is now back in use, this is likely to be welcome by anyone trying to drive in Greenwich in the mornings.
Does this mean that the possible Greenwich Congestion Charge is also being sailed down the river?

This is indeed good news - somebody tell Greenwich Council how to listen to what people want, not tell them to eat cake.
Any chance of an inquiry as to who was really behind this daft exercise that has caused so much hassle to a lot of people?

Not many comments about this, perhaps the Livingstone apologists and lapdogs are still licking their wounds.

After ten years of empty promises, i would not jump to the conclusion that this is another one, we have had years of long term strategy talk, so a few weeks wait for Boris to correct some of Kens mistakes does not seem unreasonable

So ending the tidal flow was a good idea?

A consistent two boat service on the ferry wouldn't go amiss either. Why does a one boat service seem to be the norm these days? What is going on? Or is this another part of Ken's gateway bridge conspiracy that needs to be corrected?

Boris is bound to have a honeymoon period, just like ken had. Lets see what he's done after 6months - a year and then judge.

However, the decision on the tidal flow system seems sensible to me...

So does anyone know if the tidal flow is back in operation now then?
This is the only place that I have heard this mentioned and as I am working and living in Greenwich I can't take myself down to the tunnel to check it out for myself.

All i can say is that if it had - it would have appeared in far more places than just on this speculative site.

Another broken Boris promise?

After his gaffe about the council tax pledge - would he be on top of his brief enough to even know where the tunnel is?
